I suppose if a distant relative of mine was famous, I'd do my part to
make money off his likeness let fans buy stuff with his image on it -- officially. Look to your local celebrity pop-culture store for soon-to-be-released stuff with Bram Stoker and Dracula (?) plastered all over it.
The Bram Stoker Estate is run by his great-grandnephew, Dacre Stoker, and his wife Jenne. Co-incidentally, Stoker is about to release an "official" sequel to his great-grand-daddy's famous novel. It is the only novel to officially be sanctioned as a true sequel to "Dracula", a distinction which I guess was easy to get, considering the one who is in charge of the estate is, well, also the one who wrote the novel.
Stoker's wife notes: "Bram was a gentleman of solid character and integrity, unassuming but never dull. We look forward to celebrating Bram Stoker, the author and the man." It will be great to see such a man of character and integrity as, say, a bobble-head, or perhaps on a pair of men's underwear.
Just kidding (I hope). I don't know what plans the Stokers have as far as licensing goes. Let's just hope it's tasteful.
