LA Weekly has posted a lengthy interview with Anne Rice, author of
The Vampire Chronicles series (among other landmark novels). She states that "
will never write about vampires again. Not even with these tragically hip, newfangled bloodsuckers lurking about, dating high school girls and coming out of the closet, demanding equal rights. She has told enough vampire stories -- in 12 novels -- to last her an eternity."
Well, I don't believe it. Anne changes her mind often on this -- she's also been quoted as saying she has one more Lestat novel in her. Although I won't hold my breath, The Vampire Chronicles is still my favourite series to date, and would like nothing more than to hear from Lestat once again.
