Tepes just a victim of 'bad propaganda'

BUCHAREST (AFP) – An exhibition opened July 9 in Bucharest that aims to debunk the myths surrounding Walachian prince Vlad Tepes (the Empaler), who inspired Bram Stoker's bloodsucking character Dracula. "The exhibition is based on historical studies showing that the legends related to Vlad Dracula were aimed at presenting eastern Europe as a primitive land and a source of evil," Austrian curator Margot Rauch told AFP.



Man dies watching 'Eclipse'

A 23-year-old man's body was found on the night of July 4/2010 at a cinema hall that was screening the vampire movie "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse". The body of the man was found in the movie theatre at the Reading complex on Courtenay Place shortly before 8.30 p.m., the police said.

New Zealand Herald quoted Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Miller as saying that a scene examination was being carried out.  The movie theatre would remain closed till the scene examination had been completed, said the police.



Woman claims vampire caused car accident

A Colorado woman claims she spotted a vampire in the middle of a dirt road near the town of Fruita, in the area known as the Grand Valley.  She told State Troopers that she was startled by the undead being, and as a result, threw her SUV into reverse, crashing into a canal.  She was not injured.

HONOLULU -- Strange details are emerging about Sato Franklin Sigrah, 20, who was charged with killing a 27-year-old and attacking her family. Mental health experts said Sigrah told them that he thought his victims were all vampires.
