As the world gears up for the premiere of the new FX television program adapting the original novel trilogy The Strain, Dark Horse announces The Night Eternal, the third comics chapter of this ongoing vampire epic, adapted by David Lapham and Mike Huddleston.Following the first two comics series, The Strain and the recently wrapped The Fall, The Night Eternal will begin on August 20, just after The Strain’s television debut on FX!

Universal sued by Lon Chaney Jr.'s heirs
THR reports that Chaney Entertainment, a company run by Lon Chaney Jr.'s heirs, is reminding Universal about the Chaney legacy with a lawsuit that seeks $1 million in damages for exploiting the dead star's likeness. According to a complaint that was filed on June 4th in L.A. Superior Court, Universal had deals with Chaney to exploit his name, voice, signature, silhouette and other aspects of his persona.

Bray Studios
Historic Bray Studios to be demolished
It's a decision that must have set Dracula spinning in his coffin. The studios that were once home to the famous Hammer Horror films are to be turned into a luxury housing development. The owner of Bray Studios in Berkshire says the iconic location is no longer viable for movie-making – and that he wants to put up to seven executive homes on the site.

I was never fond of Mezco's "living dead dolls" line (a bit too creepy, even for my tastes), but now that a Dracula version is on the horizon, I've had a change of heart. Based on the Universal monster, this new doll looks like Bela Lugosi, if he were turned at about age ten.

In addition to being a former Professor of English at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, she is President of the Transylvanian Society of Dracula - Canadian Chapter as well as Baroness of the House of Dracula. What was your first exposure to Dracula?
The Bat in NatureIndigenous to Central and South America, vampire bats live in a very strong social culture. The develop bonds with other bats in the colony, and learn to recognize each other through sound and scent. Vampire bats tend to live in caves, trees, or buildings. Their colonies can reach numbers of up to 2000 bats, but most colonies tend to house approximately 100 bats.
